Sustainability

Committed to responsible financing and inclusive growth

Our Sustainability Commitment

At Letshego Namibia, our sustainability strategy is grounded in responsible financing, inclusive growth, and sound governance. We uphold ethical practices and strong oversight to ensure transparency and accountability, while delivering financial solutions that serve underserved communities without contributing to over-indebtedness. We also maintain strict compliance with regulatory pricing, ensuring our products remain affordable and accessible to all.

Driving Sustainable Impact

We are dedicated to making a meaningful social impact by broadening access to finance for low- to middle-income individuals who are often underserved. These initiatives complement Namibia’s national objectives to improve access to productive capital, stimulate job creation, and foster wealth generation, ultimately driving sustainable economic growth.

In addition, through our financial products tailored to the Namibian market, we actively contribute to the realisation of several Sustainable Development Goals which are:

We integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into our operations through the adoption of our Social Financing Framework, which influences our credit risk models and product development.

Our ESG roadmap ensures that we continue to deliver value to our customers, shareholders, and society, building a resilient and inclusive financial future for Namibia.

Social Strategic Initiatives (SSI)

Driving Impact Through Ubuntu

Financial empowerment goes beyond providing accessible financial services. It’s about making a lasting, meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

Guided by the African philosophy of Ubuntu, “I am because you are”, our Strategic Social Investment (SSI) initiatives are designed to foster long-term, sustainable change. We believe true success is measured not only by financial performance, but by the lives we uplift and the communities we empower.

As a responsible corporate citizen, we remain committed to community-driven development.

Bringing Comfort, Inspiring Hope
Letshego Holdings proudly donated 70 mattresses to Ombuumbu Secondary School in Oshifo, Ruacana, to support learners facing long commutes and challenging living conditions. The handover event was a lively celebration filled with song, dance, and unity, serving as an inspiring reminder of the power of compassion, culture, and community.

Ombuumbu Secondary School educates over 440 pupils from across the region. With no formal hostel, many students undertake long daily walks to school. In response, parents established a temporary community hostel from corrugated iron sheets, currently accommodating 70 pupils who cannot commute due to distance and high rental costs. These students have been sleeping on thin mattresses, and some on bare floors.

During a recent visit, Letshego observed these dire conditions as we responded with a donation of 70 mattresses, providing much-needed comfort and relief. The school community expressed overwhelming gratitude through traditional dances, choir performances, and a joyful celebration that united everyone in hope and appreciation.

â–º Rotary Club Keetmanshoop

Spreading Warmth This Winter
Letshego Holdings Namibia partnered with the Rotary Club Keetmanshoop for their annual Winter Drive, donating 100 warm blankets to elderly citizens in need.

The Rotary Club, part of a global network of volunteers, focuses on uplifting communities through health, education, youth development, and social welfare initiatives. When approached to join this meaningful cause, Letshego did not hesitate.
This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting vulnerable groups during the harsh winter months and embodies one of our core values: Ubuntu, which translates to “I am because you are.”

â–º Omaheke Hope For All Foundation

Building Brighter Futures in Witvlei
Letshego Holdings Namibia supported the Omaheke Hope For All Foundation, a community-driven initiative dedicated to uplifting vulnerable children, including San children, children with disabilities, and orphans, through education and personal development.

In response to their request to establish an Educational Support Centre, Letshego sponsored N$46,730 for building materials, transportation, cement, and labour. The centre will provide a safe, inclusive space for after-school academic support, reading programs, early childhood development, and recreational activities.
Construction is already underway on the newly acquired land, made possible through this sponsorship. This partnership embodies Letshego’s continued commitment to community upliftment and inclusive development, helping to create a future where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
